Umihotaru

Description:

The Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, which opened in December 1997, makes travel between Kawasaki and Kisarazu just a matter of a 15-min. drive, moving the whole of Chiba much closer to Tokyo than ever.

Umihotaru (floating "fireflies"), a floating parking lot, unique in the world, is modeled after a luxurious super liner. Its "deck" on the fifth floor is a tourist attraction known for its 360-degree panoramic views of Yokohama Bay Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Makuhari Messe, and faraway Mount Fuji.

Access: It's a 40-min. trip by express bus from Kawasaki or Yokohama.

Did you know: The tunnel under Tokyo bay (the tower in the distance is 7 km away, the mid-point air vent down to the underground highway)
