In his youth Kenji wanted to be a musician because he loved music, especially the song 20th Century Boy by T. Rex. In the year 1969, Endo Kenj and his friends built their secret base where they can go for a hideout and play together. Kenji started to develop a child-like plan where the World's menaced by bio-terrorists and a 50-foot tall Giant Robot. In their little plan, the end of the world is near and a team of heroes would rise up and save the world. That team's no other but Kenji's. They named their little pact, "Friends" and even created a logo for it. The name of the plan was called "The book of Prophecy". Of course, those silly things were just kid's imagination. As time went by, Kenji failed to become a guitarist--the dream career he once yearned for as a child. Instead he's a convenience store manager and has to take care of his young nephew as his sister ran away from home.
In the year 1997, strange events began to happen starting from the death of his childhood friend, Donkey. At the same time, there's a new cult that has the same logo as the one Kenji and his friends used for "friends". Follow the death of his friend were Virus breakout in San Francisco and London where Kenji and his friends were planning to be attack targets when they were kids. Kenji realized this is no ordinary events, Kenji's certain that the mastermind behind the mass destructions' a person who knew about their secret base and their secret plan. Someone who called himself "Friend". He later gathered up a group of his old friends and tried to put an end to the terror.
By the year 2000, the cult, "Friend" grew even stronger and has its own political party, "Yumin". Kenji and the team now facing a serious problem and seemed out-numbered. As stated in the "Book of Prophecy", Kenji knew a very bad thing is about to happen at the turn of millennium. And finally that bad event finally came, with a giant robot menacing Japan and trying to release lethal virus. If succeed, the World will surely come to an end. Kenji and his friends realized the threat and trid to stop the horrible events. The gang that go up against the organization includes: Yoshitsune, Maruo, Otcho, Yukiji, Mon-Chan, and Fukubei.
Gathered up his courage, Kenji climbed up the robot and tried to put a stop to all this madness by bombing the robot. Meanwhile, "Friend" gave virus vaccine to the government. Kenji went missing after that night leaving "Friend" as the savior of Japan. As a result, Kenji and his friends were branded as criminals while "Friend" became the savoir of mankind. Only few people left know who the true heroes really are.
