Detective Chou is a near-retired detective who starts to suspect something from a case of a student who bled to death, the disappearance of Dr. Shikishima & his family, and the symbol on Dr. Shikishima's house and on students' team shirts. Detective Chou really digs deep into "Friend" organization, and its member. His investigation leads to another crime case that involve a murder of Mr. Pierre. He learns that Mr. Pierre and a mysterious man who now known as "Friend" used to practice at the same religious sect. But later Mr. Pierre went his own way and started his own organization. In the year 1997, Mr. Pierre was killed by Masao under the order from "Friend".
Detective Chou's also a friend of Detective Yama. Unknowing about Detective Yama's relation to "Friend" organization, Detective Chou told his full investigation progress. After his conversation about the case progress, Detective Chou was killed (using the virus) by Detective Yama (Volume 2 Chapter 4).
Detective Chou's also the grand father to Detective Chouno (first appears in Volume 5 Chapter 9)
